Build a Career You’re Proud Of at Sterling Plumbing & Gas

Join a local service company that respects your skills, treats customers right, and doesn’t push sales.

Sterling Plumbing & Gas is a local, owner-run residential service company based in Calgary. We started in 2018 and built our reputation by showing up on time, doing honest work, and fixing problems the right way.

As we grow, we’re looking to add a skilled technician and a customer service rep who want more than just a job. If you care about your work, want steady hours, and don’t like sales pressure, you’re in the right place.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re creating a team of professionals who really value the quality of their work and how it impacts the people we serve.

You’ll fit in well here if you:

  • Take pride in clean, quality workmanship

  • Show up on time and do what you say you will

  • Treat customers with patience and respect

  • Want steady, long-term work

  • Prefer honest service over upselling

This is not a fit if you’re only looking for short-term work or commission-driven sales roles.

What It’s Like to Work at Sterling

Sterling is owner-operated. You won’t get lost in a big system or bounced between managers. You’ll work directly with leadership and get real support when things get busy or complicated.

Day-to-day, the work is straightforward and well-paced. We focus on residential service calls only. No downtown jobs. No apartment buildings. No rushing through jobs just to squeeze in one more call.

We use one-hour arrival windows so your day stays predictable. Pricing is discussed before work starts, so you’re not put in awkward situations with customers. We don’t use overtime charges as a sales tactic. And we care more about doing the job right than upselling something the homeowner doesn’t need.

Most of our work stays local in Calgary, which means you’re not stuck driving all over the place or getting home late every night.

Training & Growth

We’re not a massive company with a formal academy. We’re a real shop that helps you get better at your trade.

You’ll get hands-on onboarding and support on real jobs. We coach on technical skills, job planning, and customer communication. As the company grows, there’s room to take on more responsibility and move into senior or lead roles.
We’re not just investing in equipment. We’re investing in people who want to grow with us.

If you want to sharpen your skills and be part of something that’s expanding the right way, this is a good place to do it.

Compensation & Stability

We keep compensation simple, fair, and transparent.

What you can expect:

  • Competitive pay based on experience and skill

  • Performance incentives tied to quality work and efficiency

  • Consistent scheduling and predictable workload

  • Long-term stability with a growing Calgary company

  • Honest conversations about pay before hiring, no surprises

We believe good techs should earn more by doing great work, not by pushing customers into things they don’t need.

Our Culture & Values

We run our company the same way we expect our team to work: with accountability, respect, and follow-through.

Our standards:

  • We do what we say we’re going to do

  • We fix mistakes instead of blaming people

  • We treat customers and teammates with respect

  • We protect our team from unrealistic expectations

  • We focus on long-term trust, not short-term profit

If you want to work for a company that values professionalism over hype, you’ll feel at home here.

Open Positions

Service Technician
(Plumbing & HVAC)

We’re looking for a solid residential service tech who takes pride in doing clean, professional work. Most of your day will be spent on repairs, maintenance, and the occasional installation. You’ll work directly with homeowners, quote jobs honestly, and have real backup when a call gets complicated.

We don’t cram your schedule or push upsells. We care more about doing the job right than squeezing in one more call.

Customer Service Representative (CSR)

We’re looking for someone who’s calm on the phone, organized, and good with people. You’ll be the first voice customers hear when something goes wrong in their home. Your job is to book calls, support the techs in the field, and keep the day running smoothly.

This isn’t a high-pressure call center job. It’s about clear communication, good scheduling, and making customers feel taken care of.
